Elections have consequences. I made that exceedingly clear when we started this journey months ago. The nation, more concerned with relying on the government for their every want and need, voted for another four years. The terrifying fact is this: suffering is coming. Half of the nation voted to bring that suffering on the 100%, and we’ll all pay the price in the end. Look at the turnout of this election. Look at the demographics and exit poll responses. Looks like Mitt Romney hit it right on the head with his 47% comment. The takers now outnumber the providers. We’ve reached the tipping point, and it may be too late to recover.
This is not meant to be an extreme gloom-and-doom piece written just to scare the audience. It also is not the ramblings of a sore loser, intent on badmouthing the other side. This is the truth of what’s coming, based on the decision 50% of this country made Tuesday. If you’ve taken the time to read each topic of this blog, you understood what was at stake in this election. You now also understand what’s on the horizon. When I point out that suffering is coming, you know all too well that it’s the truth.
After watching the debt jump nearly six trillion dollars in less than four years, do you expect that to change in a second term? At this rate, we will be above twenty trillion dollars in debt by 2016. Each American under eighteen now owes over $200,000 in debt. There have been no promises to lower spending and balance the budget. This is not an administration worried about debt. After all, it’s not their money.
Obamacare will now be fully implemented, with the opportunity to repeal and replace now out the window. Taxes will rise. Healthcare costs have and will continue to rise. Doctors will leave the medical field in droves. Don’t believe me? All it takes is a Google search to see how many doctors across the country planned to close their doors if Obamacare stood. That process has now begun. The Supreme Court maintained its Constitutionality and the reelection of Barack Obama permanently cements the law. It will destroy our economy. It will destroy many businesses. It will destroy the quality of our available healthcare. Look at any nation with socialized medicine. Nothing is different here. We will suffer.
Speaking of the Supreme Court, the opportunity to appoint multiple new justices will most likely arise over the next four years. With the Obamacare decision, it became obvious that Chief Justice Roberts cannot be counted upon to uphold conservative principles. It also became clear that he is easily swayed. After originally siding 5-4 with the conservative justices, he was pressured for weeks until he changed his decision and sided with the liberals, upholding the legality of Obamacare. In the next four years, there will be many essential cases which will essentially determine the moral fabric of our nation. Religious freedom, state’s rights, the definition of marriage and immigration laws will all come before the court. Barack Obama now has the power to swing the court over to a group of progressive liberals, intent on altering the U.S. Constitution and making their own mark on the laws of our land. This holds colossal implications that will reach far into the future.
What else is coming?
The massive defunding of our military and our weapons arsenal. Having a president who envisions a utopian world free from nuclear weapons instantly endangers the safety of this nation. On Tuesday, that president was reelected. In the last four years, we were less safe than at any previous time in recent history. That trend will continue. The media and so many of the American people turned a blind-eye to the murders in Libya, the failures of the administration to prepare and the immediate and continuing cover-up. However, they saw a four-hour photo-op with Governor Chris Christie following Hurricane Sandy as presidential and helped sway voters. There are so many words that come to mind when comparing the reaction to Libya compared to Sandy, but none are worth including here.
Combine a skyrocketing debt with a weak military, and unthinkable consequences are moving quickly in our direction. Eventually, the fight will be brought to us.
Energy and gas prices will continue to rise. Mitt Romney promised to open up drilling on our own lands, where we have massive amounts of oil and natural gas that could have made us independent from foreign oil and energy. Now, the mass bans purposely imposed by the Obama Administration will remain. In the next four years, there will be an even larger push for “green” energy and electric cars. Prices for gas and electricity will be resolutely forced higher and higher to shove us to other forms against our will. The farce that is global warming will be preached as creed, bashing it over our head and guilting us into Chevy Volts and a coal-less America. Countless jobs in the energy field will be lost. The outright attack on the oil and coal businesses started early in the first term. Now we’ll never see the Keystone Pipeline. Now the burden to fill up our gas tanks will be higher than ever. We will suffer.
Religious liberty will continue to be challenged in the very nation that our Founding Fathers escaped to after living in homelands where the freedom of religion was not theirs. America is now a nation free FROM religion, where Christians are often made out to be pariahs and our faith expelled from the public’s view. While artists can put a crucifix in urine and display it in the halls of our nation’s museums, the Ten Commandments are removed from courthouses and nativity sets are banned from the town square. We are forced to fund abortions and religious institutions are mandatorily required to provide birth control, whether or not it is against their faith. In 2008, so many of these religious institutions welcomed then-candidate Barack Obama with open arms. Three years later, those same groups are suing him. How blindly so many have followed. Their suffering has already begun, and it will worsen over time.
This election proves that this nation, built on hard work and a pull-yourself-up-from-your-bootstraps mentality, now looks for the easiest, sweat-less route. A Pew Research poll recently showed that a majority of Americans 18-29 years old view Socialism positively. The masses have drastically transformed and the things that propelled our country from obscurity to the most powerful and free nation in the history of mankind have been flung by the wayside. There is no longer a drive for success now that the status quo is viewed as adequate. Success and wealth are demonized. Look no further than the devious campaign that painted Mitt Romney as a bad person and incapable leader based on his hard-earned wealth and success in the capitalist system. To so many of us, we celebrate such a man, who we see as living the American dream. The truth is, the American dream is dying.
The suffering is on its way. By 2016, America will look much different than it does today. Look back to 2008. Are we the same country? Are we the same people?
Will you fight through the suffering and try to turn the tide back to the America we once knew, or will you be content with sitting back and watching our nation deteriorate economically, socially and morally? Pick up our flag and continue sprinting forward. Half the nation still believes in our principles, but we don’t have time to wait. The 2012 election proved that we have reached the tipping point. The fight for freedom is here. It has come knocking on our front doors.
What are you prepared to do?
